Senior Software Engineer

I work on Student Transport, Student Guidance and the Education Portal, together with their supporting APIs and services. My role has grown towards lead development, with responsibility for technical cohesion, quality and feasibility.

• Renewed the DUO ROD integration for the new data standard, enabling legacy integration technology to be phased out.
• Introduced isolated test environments for every pull request, allowing testers to validate changes and migrations independently.
• I coordinate external penetration tests, from scope, planning and access to translating findings and following up remediation.
• I improve collaboration and predictability as Scrum Master through pragmatic Agile practices, planning and alignment with the product owner and team lead.
• With the annual “Team Education Wrapped”, I help the team look back on results and development in an accessible and light-hearted way.

Scrum Master since spring 2024, elected to the Works Council in late 2024 and vice-chair since mid-2025. My focus includes AI and technology, privacy, employee communication and organisational change.

Full Stack Developer

Developed Clickbit, a partner-tracking platform, and Leadgreed, a lead-distribution and CRM platform. Independently introduced Laravel Vapor as one of my first assignments.

• Strengthened CI/CD and code reviews with PHP-CS-Fixer, PHPStan and automated quality checks.
• Expanded unit testing and delivered several performance improvements for data-intensive applications.

Held near-complete technical responsibility for the Symfony web application behind VirtualStudio. The backend configured Unity simulations and connected them to adaptable training scenarios.

• Set up and maintained the web application, integrations and technical operations, supported by a part-time independent developer.
• Acted as an informal Scrum Master in the final year to create realistic plans with the development teams and company leadership.

Helped build municipal education applications that later became part of xxllnc. Alongside software development, I was responsible for production operations and support.

• Handled deployments, Linux and web-server administration, databases, monitoring, backups and incident analysis.
• Initiated the company’s ISO 27001 certification programme as security officer. The programme was not completed during my tenure.
